The 8-port RS485 isolated hub features 8 fully galvanically isolated RS485 channels, each equipped with independent isolated RS485 transceivers. It includes a single RS232/422/485 and a USB interface for upstream connectivity, which can be selected as needed. The USB interface expands one serial port on a PC, eliminating the need for a separate USB to serial converter. This device is suitable for various applications, such as the Modbus protocol.
In the event of lightning strikes or equipment failures, the affected network segment will be isolated to ensure the regular operation of other segments. This significantly enhances the reliability of existing RS485 networks and effectively reduces maintenance time.
Each channel of the RS485hub offers a 6kV lightning protection capability, utilizing optoelectronic isolation with an isolation voltage of up to 2.5kV. Furthermore, each channel has an independent ground, protecting devices on other RS485 buses in the event of damage to one RS485 bus. Each RS485 port can support 128 nodes. The RS485 ports, power supply, and RS232 port also possess a 6kV lightning protection capability.
● Based on FPGA design, it can automatically generate precise RS485 transmit/receive switching enable signals based on the transmitted data. It can automatically detect and control RS-485 data flow, providing superior performance compared to the conventional enable generation method using Schmitt triggers.
● Each RS485 port has a 6kV lightning protection capability, 2.5kV optoelectrical isolation, and is equipped with independent shielded wire ground interfaces and transmit/receive LED indicators. It is powered by a 2500V DC-DC isolated power supply, and the communication signals are isolated using high-speed optocouplers.
● The upstream interface provides one RS232/422/485 and USB interface simultaneously, and the USB interface can supply power.
● The upstream interface is a full-speed USB device interface, compatible with USB v2.0, used for upgrading original serial peripheral devices or adding additional serial ports via USB.
● Serial port applications on Windows operating systems are fully compatible without modification.
● It’s compatible with operating systems: Win98/2K/XP, WIN10/WIN11 32/64-bit systems, Linux, MAC OS-9/X, Android.
● The communication cable should have a cross-sectional area of 0.5mm or more, made of copper, shielded twisted pair. The maximum communication distance is 3000 meters (4800bps), 2000 meters (9600bps), and 1000 meters (115.2Kbps).
● The minimum number of network nodes is 128, and the maximum number of network nodes is determined by the RS485 input impedance of each node.

● The upstream interface RS232/422/485 is optional, with a baud rate range of 0-115200bps.
