Industrial USB to RS485 Converter Cable (3KV isolation/6KV lightning protection)

The basic function of this device is USB to RS485 with 3KV isolation and 6KV lightning protection. The USB port powers the device and does not require an external power supply. It uses a unique zero-delay automatic transmit/receive conversion technology, plug-and-play compatible with all software, and has transmit/receive enable control. The output is in a high-impedance state in standby mode without sending data. It supports multi-point communication.

● The minimum number of networked sites supported is 128, while the maximum number of networked sites is determined by the RS485 input impedance of each site.

● The device features three LED indicators: a red light for power, an orange light for serial data receive, and a green light for serial data transmission. These indicators facilitate status monitoring.

● The USB port is gold-plated and the device is powered via USB. It operates with a working current of less than 30mA. The USB interface offers protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD) up to ±15kV (air) and ±8kV (contact). Additionally, it provides EFT protection up to 40A (5/50ns) and lightning protection up to 5A (8/20us).

● The RS485 interface is equipped with 3KV isolation, ensuring that only the RS485 interface is affected when connected to high voltages such as AC220V or AC380V for an extended period. The USB port and connected devices remain unaffected.

● The RS485 interface features three-level lightning protection, meeting the GB/T17626.5 (IEC61000-4-5) standard. It can withstand a short-circuit current wave of 10/700μs and an open-circuit peak output voltage of 6KV, with an internal resistance of 40Ω.

● The interface includes a 3KV isolated 5V power terminal output, capable of delivering a maximum power of 2W.

● The device is designed for wide temperature range applications, with an operating temperature ranging from -40°C to +85°C.
